With our satisfaction guarantee, we need to be sure that all wines we select for our list are good. If the thought, "Should it be on the list?" even crosses our minds, it will not be included Next, our Sommelier rates them according to their drinkability, body and approach. We will not select wines with only 1 or 2 stars. The ratings are defined as follows:
Light, friendly, uncomplicated wines, but with enough kick to be interesting.
Richer, more concentrated wines, without being too complex.
Deeper, stronger wines, with bigger tannins (for reds) or refined flavours (for whites).
: 5-Stars wines will have more flavour intensity and/or complexity. Some may be ready to drink now, but many can age for a few more years.

You read well: Uruguay! Wine Talk is proud to be the 1st ever to introduce wines from this South American country in Malaysia. The wine industry in said country started in the 1870’s with immigrants from Italy and South-West of France. But across the globe, they rank as the 28th producers in terms of volume. Meanwhile, the Garzon region and winery is much younger.

When Alejandro Bulgheroni and his wife, Bettina, discovered Garzón Valley in 1999, they saw their ‘little Uruguayan Tuscany’, and they realized that their family dream had come true today: Agroland; a land that encompass 4,000 hectares of olives, almonds, honey and premium wine grapes plantations. The estate is spread across small hilly outcrops surrounding the winery with thin and rocky soil that has excellent drainage and is rich in minerals which the vine roots absorb. Their 1st vintage came in 2011 with vines planted in the early 2000’s, and the quality had already been outstanding since day one, getting worldwide recognition.

Tannat is a native French grape from the South-West region that’s best sourced from the Madiran village appellation, it’s considered as the country’s national grape! This is an intense red and black fruit wine with a lingering aftertaste, freshness and softness. This elegant and powerful wine greets you with beautiful aromas of raspberry and red cherry followed by delicious flavours of black plum, rhubarb and tobacco mixed with dark chocolate and white pepper.

Conclusion: A great discovery that is fruitful and generous-to pair with braised meats.

Delicious red.
Review by Julian
This is a wonderful inky-smooth wine which goes well with all red meats. Highly recommended! (Posted on 19/03/2016)
