Elegant, sensuality is on display here. The wine is effortless to taste with its lush, chocolate covered cherry, plum and licorice profile. There is concentration, polish and freshness. But make no mistake, it's the sexy, multi-layered, velvet textured finish that is the highlight of the wine. Age this stunner for a decade and as the truffles kick in, you'll really be blown away.
The Chateau Troplong Mondot 2011 is a classic grand vintage with its own unique style. Its colour has a great density and is almost black with purple reflections on the rim. On the nose, it presents a superb aromatic concentration with ripe black fruit notes that evolve into intense aniseed and liquorice notes. On the palate, the frank attack reveals a voluptuous mouthfeel with ample notes of spice, cocoa and mocha. This powerful wine has a dense structure with present, yet silky, tannins that is highlighted with great finesse. The long finish ends on a lovely acidity. This is a classy wine with great ageing potential.
The opaque bluish-purple 2012 Smith Haut Lafite offers up notes of licorice, graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, stunningly ripe, velvety tannins and a long, long finish. Sight: A wine of good density ruby red, with brown, mahogany, biscuit hints. It has maintained its luster and clarity. The rim is fairly thick. The tears are fine, clear, abundant and regular. Smell: At once expressive, forthright and complex. There are notes of all families of fragrance: fruit, flowers, and spices. Taste: The attack is forthright, round and suave, soothing even. The intense aromas initially recall the complexity of the nose. There is leather and lightly charred wood, and roasted notes. The beauty of the vintage is revealed by its elegance rather than its full-flavor. The wine has an attractive aromatic range with a finish of remarkable elegance.
Dense and deep black robe with ruby hues. The nose is complex with notes of mocha, zan, blackcurrant, raspberry, and violet . The palate: blackcurrant, morello, redcurrant, and cocoa give to the palate a rich touch of mellowness. Long, ample and homogeneous wine. The soft tannins are neat and straight on a lingering finish. Splendid wine. Classic of Bordeaux, elegant and noble.

Just like the First Wine of Corbin, the flavoursome DIVIN de Corbin and XX de Corbin are made from a very rigorous selection process. They benefit from the same care and attention as the First Wine. Their ageing process is simply shorter, since these Second Wines are bottled during the summer following the harvest, so as to preserve all the freshness of their fruit flavour.
