With our satisfaction guarantee, we need to be sure that all wines we select for our list are good. If the thought, "Should it be on the list?" even crosses our minds, it will not be included Next, our Sommelier rates them according to their drinkability, body and approach. We will not select wines with only 1 or 2 stars. The ratings are defined as follows:
Light, friendly, uncomplicated wines, but with enough kick to be interesting.
Richer, more concentrated wines, without being too complex.
Deeper, stronger wines, with bigger tannins (for reds) or refined flavours (for whites).
: 5-Stars wines will have more flavour intensity and/or complexity. Some may be ready to drink now, but many can age for a few more years.

Region: Orange - NSW
Flavour: Fruity
Body: Full
Alcohol Level: 13.5%

Orange, situated inland from Sydney, is renowned for its volcanic soil and for being the highest altitude wine region in Australia, and therefore a distinctively cool climate region, produce softer and more delicate wines than ‘classic’ South Australian ones.

In 1978, the Swift family purchased the Printhie farm, which was a regular crops farm until the mid-1990s when Jim and Ruth Swift started planting the first 12 hectares of grapes on a gentle north facing slope. With the return of the third generation of Swifts, Ed and Dave, in the early-2000s, further vineyards were planted, the Printhie wine brand was established, and they are now considered amongst the best wineries in the Orange region.

‘MCC’ stands for Mt Canobolas Collection, and is their Reserve range made from a drastic selection of their best parcels. This is a very aromatic wine with lifted black pepper spice and generous red berry fruit flavours. There is complexity from elegant fine-grained French oak that lingers in the background. The palate shows some good complexity with a hint of chocolate and cedar. The fine acid-tannin balance keeps the wine bright, fresh and textural.

Conclusion: Some kind of antithesis of Aussie Shiraz – revered by finesse and elegance.
