With our satisfaction guarantee, we need to be sure that all wines we select for our list are good. If the thought, "Should it be on the list?" even crosses our minds, it will not be included Next, our Sommelier rates them according to their drinkability, body and approach. We will not select wines with only 1 or 2 stars. The ratings are defined as follows:
Light, friendly, uncomplicated wines, but with enough kick to be interesting.
Richer, more concentrated wines, without being too complex.
Deeper, stronger wines, with bigger tannins (for reds) or refined flavours (for whites).
: 5-Stars wines will have more flavour intensity and/or complexity. Some may be ready to drink now, but many can age for a few more years.

Details

Imprevisto is made from the estate youngest parcels of Touriga Nacional and Aragonez, and conveys youth with a lot of fleshy and quite succulent fruit, a lot of nerve, balancing from the sweetness of the fruit and the acidity, floral with a comforting touch of jam. Frank, fruitful, this is a great introduction to the wines of the region.

The Algarve region is situated at the extreme southern part of Portugal, just below the Alentejo region. Meanwhile, it has a more temperate climate than the latest, due to the chain of mountain in the North (blocking the inland hot and dry winds) and the Mediterranean Sea & Atlantic Ocean in the South & West. This is a very traditional regional, and the grapes present are mostly locals, with Touriga Nacional, Antao Vaz, Alicante Bouschet and more.

Convento do Paraiso has been in the Pereira Family since the the 15th Century, and is based in an old covenant; After a few decades of non-activities, they start back in the late 2000’s, with the relaunch vintage happening in 2012, with the help of the Soares Family. The small vineyard lies on high ground overlooking the old town of Silves. A compact winery adjoins the old estate house, and wines here are increasingly expressive and look set to be the benchmark for the region. They work mostly with local varietals, renowned like Touriga Nacional, Alvarinho or Aragonez, but also lesser known like Sousoa.
